It is the goal of Orion Electronics to become the leading supplier of Pb-Free assemblies for OEM`s and tier 1 suppliers. We will accomplish this goal by working closely and developing partnerships with clients.
Circuit Board Repair Process
Once the rework parameters have been defined, the process begins the same whether it requires standard or Pb-free solder - the required steps are:
- Define and execute an accurate thermal profile
- The failed components must be removed
- The site is cleaned of all rust or solder residue and prepared for the new component
- Replace the component with new solder and flux and perform re-flow
- The re-work is thoroughly inspected
The next steps involved in the rework process vary depending on whether or not there is a Pb-free requirement. The differences in standard vs. Pb-free present a number of challenges that can only be resolved by introducing new or altered processes including tighter, more accurate thermal profiles and extreme precision throughout the PCB rework procedures.
